Welcome

Dr. Laura Baecher is Associate Professor of TESOL at Hunter College, City University of New York. Her research interests and publications relate to English as a Second/Foreign Language teacher preparation including content-language integration, teacher leadership, the use of video for teacher learning, and practicum and supervision in teaching English learners. Her recent 2017 book is co-authored with Tom Farrell and entitled Reflecting on Problems of Practice in TESOL. Dr. Baecher also develops and directs study-abroad programs for teachers as a means of developing teachers’ linguistic and professional expertise. She has served as the TESOL International’s Teacher Education Interest Section Chair and as an English Language Specialist for the US Department of State. In addition, she provides mentoring to faculty in the areas of scholarship and teaching through her leadership in Hunter College’s Academic Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (ACERT).
